End oF unit

I finished the assignment and it was due today. ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well at least I haven't been given any new ones only b-day.
Overall I found this unit fun. I think if I did it again my project could have been better, especially If I didn't drop it like I did in the third lesson.
It was enjoyable and interesting.
I liked being the only person with a moving part in my project.
So far everyone I have talked to loves my project and Celine offered me $50 for it because she wanted it so bad.

It was a fun activity to do.

I am really happy with the final design. i may have been the last person to finsih but it was worth it. my project turned oiut really good. for a while i didnt thinkm it would work and it looked pretty bad but with the final touches it really came together.

The importance of being exact

Yesterday Wardy went over the importance of being exact after one of the girls was asked to make a circle and she drew it freehand. Lets just say that wardy wasnt happy when he saw this and gave us a lecture about it. " there is only a 1mm tolerence of miscalculation" or something along those lines. some of my project looks a bit crappy even though i measured everything accurately. Oh well. If it doesnt turn out well it isnt a failure because I tried my best and I did happen to pick a rediculousy cazy hard design to make. The fact that i have got this far is good. so if it doesnt work out i cant talk about why it didnt work in my assesment piece, and i could still get an A because of the complexity oif what i have been making and skills required to create it. anywayz, the bell is going to go soon and the lesson is almost over. my desk tidy update

These images are of my deask tidy as pieces are created and put into place before I glue them down. So far i have made the majority of my project, with the pages left to make. I still have to work out how i am going to make an even shape. I know i have to put the plastic in the oven but i need to find something to bend it on. guess i better think of something over the weekend.

It has been realoly good lately. Even though i missed a week and half of classes due to illness, i am where i wanted to be at this point. There were a few set backs last lesson due to the fact i dropped part of my project and a thin piece of plastic broke off. But to get around this i cut the other off so it was a smooth edge. this way i could remake those parts using scrap material from the beginning of the project when i glued three sheets of white acrylic together.

Crazy i know but I did say it was an idea [sadly for those who know me i will go through with it ;)]

RECAP: Desk Tidy Project

So far i have designed my project(based on a book desk tidy i found on the internet) and have started to mark things out in the workshop. It had to be within the peramiters of 200mm X 250mm (the dimentions of an ipad). My project is 250mm X 175mm.
Being a book i have decided to make the base black, being the book cover, and the pages white. When i am finished i am going to try and see if i can either carefully paint or spray on some words or inspirational sayings using a template. I have had to take a different approch to make this as it is quite difficult but Wardy thinks I can do it, and if it doesn't work out I'll still be happy because i know I gave it my best shot. I am really excited about this project but i am not looking so forward to the oral at the end of the work. Public speaking is not one of my strongest points but it is improving. Saddly i still get nervous speaking in front of the class (even if they are my friends), but since this one is not so formal as english or history i think i will be fine. What i dont understand though is why we are doing a section on deforestation again this term when that was in the last assignment we did. I guess Wardy wants to know more (since he told us himself that we taught him soooo much...).

Any who, everything is going well. I am feeling better this semester so thats a start. Everything has been really positive and i am really happy with my work last semester. I am hoping that i will have the same success this semester.
