Use in the real world...

I didn't realize how much I soaked in until last week when I was working with my dad on his car, there was a problem with the cams in the motor. We both had a long conversation on cam and other mechanisms in the car. It was really cool. Dad thought that it was really good that I knew that kind of stuff. He is very happy now that I can sort out some of the kinks in his car.

Almost end of term..

Well the term is almost over but there is still a few bits to do. I have to assemble my toy today and then I can finalize the last sections of my assignment. Since I won't be at school for the first two weeks I aim to finish the written assignment before the end of the week so I can hand it in "on time". I have finalized my toys pieces, the base is 200mm X 90mm X 90mm and it is fully painted, the birds are a nice white colour with a tinge of pink, the fountain was constructed using air dry clay and it looks super cool.

Mr waddy seems to be happy with everyones progress although Fliss is really behind, maybe she shouldn't get so sick so often. Everyone is very independent and moving along. I can't wait to finish this and start the next unit.

Back again, it's almost time...

Hello again. It's been a while since wrote but good news!

I've almost finished my toy. Last week I completed making my birds and bird bath for my toy. Today I sanded everything up so tomorrow I can start painting. On Thursday I can then put my toy together and watch it in action. Mr ward was really helpful in making the birds for my toy. I've been working very independently, which I like. There aren't many distractions and I can focus clearly on what I am doing. Design is such a relaxing subject, it makes me feel better if I have had a bad day. I know that sound weird but it is true...

If I finish my project this week I can complete the final section of my assignment before the holidays so it's ready to go next term.

Yay, back in the worksop!

Hello.
i've been ]really sick so when i got to go back in the workshop last week i was stoked. Turns out though, that despite being away for so many lessons i'm a head of a few people. Shocking...
Anyway, i got my base made, so next lesson i can start to make the mechanism and the fountain. Still not sure about how to make it??? Oh well, i'll figure it out.

Valentines day 14.2.11

Today I cut up my wood, sanded them and drilled at 6.5 mm hole on each end to fit a 6 mm rod through.
This was all I got done. Mr ward said he has got some type of clay for me to make the fountain. Should get a lot done next lesson.

Day 3

First lesson back in a week. I hate being sick. I miss out of so much at school. Today i have tro catch up on a website and choose the toy i want to make. I'm thinking about making the pecking birds toy but instead they are drinking from a water fountain.

Day 2

Today we explored the mechanism software and wrote down definitions of four types of mechanism. We also had time to explore the toys we could make. I'm still undecided.
